boston Tea Party
- A major act of rebellion
- Cause: colonist had enough of British forces
- Colonists believed that everything that the British were doing to them was unfair
- Bostonians, also known as colonists, then boycotted all British goods
- The majority of the population stopped buying anything made from Britain
- Tea, a major export was then dumped into the Boston Harbor
- 342 chests of tea were dumped into the Harbor "on the night of December 16, 1773" (history.com)
- Samuel Adams and Paul Revere helped dump the chests of tea
- The Intolerable Acts were a result of this
- The Intolerable Acts was a form of punishment to all those who contributed to the Boston Tea Party
